Cookie Policy

This policy explains how EveryOrchard (everyorchard.com) uses cookies and similar technologies. In short: we use only strictly-necessary cookies and cookieless analytics. We set no tracking, advertising, or cross-site cookies, so there is nothing non-essential to opt in or out of — and no consent banner is required.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some are essential for a site to work (for example, to keep you signed in); others are used for analytics or advertising. We use only the first kind.

Cookies we use

• Sign-in session (strictly necessary): when you sign in to My Orchard we set a session cookie so you stay logged in as you move between pages. It is set only after you sign in, is used for nothing but authentication, and is cleared when you sign out.
• Payment (strictly necessary): when you start checkout, our payment processor Stripe sets cookies needed to complete the transaction securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe’s cookie policy.

Browsing the public site — variety pages, guides, chill-hour lookups, and the calendars — sets none of these; the session cookie only appears once you sign in.

Cookies we do not use

• Analytics: we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not set cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personally identifying information.
• Advertising / marketing cookies: none. We do not run ads or ad networks.
• Third-party tracking or social-media cookies: none.

Why there’s no cookie banner

Consent banners exist to let you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Because every cookie we use is strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for (signing in or paying), and our analytics are cookieless, there are no non-essential cookies to consent to. Under GDPR/ePrivacy and the CCPA, strictly-necessary cookies are exempt from consent, so a banner would offer no real choice. If we ever introduce cookies that require consent, we will add a consent mechanism and update this policy first.

Managing cookies

You can view and delete cookies through your browser settings, and block them entirely if you prefer. Blocking the strictly-necessary cookies above will prevent you from staying signed in or completing a purchase, but the public site will keep working normally.
